One Breath - a prelude to the chakras post!

This is a special post and comes as a contribution from someone who has spent years in the dedicated pursuit of the ultimate truth through ancient practices and techniques and been through many enriching experiences on his journey. He has healed and touched the lives of hundreds of people in the United States and India through Reiki, Silva Method and many others. Here is what I asked him:

Q. What can someone who is not trained in reiki or any other healing methods do to balance and energize their chakras Or Dantiens? But before we go there, why is it even required to balance them??

A. We hear it all the time that it is important to balance our energies. Balance our mind, body & soul. Various physical exercise systems like martial arts, yoga (the commercialized version of yoga) & mental systems (zen meditation, reiki, pranic healing & other healing systems) claim to balance our energies.

Q. What exactly does that mean in simple language?

A. You remember that moment, when you were standing near a sea shore, in a garden, with your loved one, when you were totally lost in the natural beauty or in her eyes, when thoughts just ceased to exist, when you had that inner serenity, that inner smile! When you felt you were not You but some divine being.
That is a glimpse to your actual nature, a glimpse of who you actually are!

Our upbringing, our surrounding, our culture, our media, newspapers & even science intentionally or unintentionally close our mind & we believe only in what we are told. We see people fighting, we experience sorrow, grief, anger & our subconscious mind kind of stores all that. Like you see your parents quarreling during your childhood; that will be stored as an impression somewhere deep inside your memories & this is how our personality gets molded. This is how we become what we are today.

When we see the same in our energy body, these blockages (what our subconscious mind stored since our birth or even from past lives) appear!

Q. How do we deal with them? Or shall I ask HOW do you start? How do you take the first step?

A. There are several paths / ways to achieve that as described in our ancient scriptures. One of them is working on our ENERGY BODY.

There are several energy systems in the world. You can choose one of them based on what you are trying to achieve. If you want to be a healer, there are several healing systems like Reiki, pranic healing, etc. You already have everything, you just have to relearn how to make these energies flow again in your body.

Q. Coming back to our original question:
What can someone who is not trained in reiki or any other healing methods do to balance and energize their chakras Or Dantiens

A. This basic breathing is suitable for everyone. It is called "The One Breath" !

Breathe in through the nose in a relaxed way. Keep the breath fluid. Do not stop or hold the breath as you finish your inhalation. Breathe out with the same speed and amount as you did on the inhalation. Merging the inhalation and exhalation together in a continuous flow is what we refer to as "the one breath"

Smiling is very important as it releases the heaviness of the organs and emotions, making you feel lighter in body, mind and spirit.

Imagine the face of a Tibetan Buddha sculpture and you will understand the right type of smile.

Light instrumental music will help you relax.

Start practicing this breathing technique. With practice, it will become the way you breathe. This is a simple and beautiful step towards realizing yourself. It will give you a stress free day.
