A movie review - for a refreshing change!

Karate Kid - it has to be!

Martial Arts have always been of such a huge interest to me, because of the mix of calmness and agility that can together form a great base for your body to reach and maintain great levels of fitness! So even before I watched the movie I knew I am going to be all for it :D In any case, here are a few things about the movie that I'd like to talk about :

- Jackie Chan was good in his miserable serious avatar a whole different character from his usual fun characters!

- Jaden Smith completely reminded me of Will Smith and amazingly so! He pulled off a fabulous performance and looked totally believable in the role of a 12 year old troubled kid in a foreign land. I completely felt for him and I don't think that has to do with just me!

- The concept of Kung Fu was cleared off some misunderstood facts in general. However, I felt like it was a very shallow description and didn't do full justice to the beautiful art, from an educational perspective. But then again, I don't think anyone was thinking of achieving that(Education)!

I mean the ability to be able to control a person in front of you because your mind and heart are empty and clear was just too little information for me to be satiated with!

But All in All, a nice, inspiring, easy to watch movie that proved to be well worth the 10 dollars I spent on it!

P.S: While we're here I got to mention the reason behind my love for ancient martial arts. These arts require you to keep all your senses alive and open which means you can't let yourself be preoccupied with thoughts at any time. That translates to living in the now and that also gives your sixth sense a boost. All of this while you're physically strong, flexible and have the ability to save yourself from danger at any time. Gotta love Kung Fu, right!?
